You're A Hoot!

This is a card that I made a couple months ago before I had surgery on my hands.  Still not back to stamping (healing is sooooo slow!!) but thought I would share it.  This card uses stamps from Technique Tuesday:  Wise Guys and The Weather Report.

My card to share with you today:

I used one of my favorite Technique Tuesday stamps:  Wingin' It.  Such a pretty  butterfly, and so affordable!

I heat embossed the butterfly, and then colored with aquapainter and ink.

My First Published Cards!

It was an exciting day for me today!  I bought the Stamp It! Techniques issue from Paper Crafts and saw my first two published cards!  A special thanks to my stamping friends Teri, Char, and Laura who encouraged me to submit!!  The card I am sharing here is actually the first card that I made for the call, and was one that I liked best.

This card is in the "shimmer spray technique" section of the magazine and can be found on page 67.

I sprayed glimmer mist on my embossing folder, then embossed a piece of white cardstock.

To imitate the grip tape on a skateboard, I used fine-grit black sandpaper for the black background,

and also punched the small black stars from the sandpaper. 

The Stamp It! Techniques issue is one that you will definately want to pick up! 

It is filled with beautiful cards, and great technique ideas!

My First Blog Post!

I have decided to start a blog... after a couple years of resisting the idea!

This picture was taken a week after I had carpal tunnel surgery. This is only about half of the beautiful cards that I received from all the wonderful ladies on Splitcoast Stampers! I appreciate everyone who took the time to send me a card. Thank You!! It was actually FUN to get the mail for a change!

I hope to be back stamping soon! It has been three weeks now since surgery, and I am getting impatient...
