Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

Hi again!  Here is another card I made for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge.  Today is the last day...  there is still time to play along!

This was our inspiration photo:

Here is my card:
I used the bird and the branch from the Hang Ups set, colored simply with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is from Birthday Buddies.  I cut the sentiment apart, so I could use the word "Happy" alone.  To make the word   "Happy" a lighter color gray, I stamped it off first on scratch paper, then again onto the card.

The twine frames the card by using a really OLD punch that I think was called Southwest Corner punch.  It was all the rage about 8-10 years ago.  At the LSS that I worked at, we couldn't keep them in stock.  We called it the "Fiber" punch.  :)

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

Hi Everyone!

Today is the last day for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!  And once again, I am squeaking this in just in time!  :)

This was our inspiration photo:

Here is my card:

The rainbow colors are so fun!  For my card, I used Copic Markers on a piece of cardstock, then cut a strip from that.  The hearts are from the Hang Ups set, and were stamped using a light gray ink, then stickles added to the center.  I got creative with the sentiment.  The "I" is from the word "Boo!" from the Halloweenies set.  The Heart is from Hang Ups, and the "You" is from the word "you're" in the My Guy set.  The rainbow ric rac is a RAK from my SCS friend MariLynn.  (Thank you!).

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

Hello!  I am sharing a card that I made for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge.

Our inspiration photo:

My card:

I was inspired by several things:
1.  The colors.  Lime green, aqua, and greys.
2.  The fabric texture.  For my background, I inked a piece of screen and pressed my cardstock into it.
3.  The images.  I drew lines around the flower clusters, and I kept the layout of my card similar to the photo.

Both the flower cluster and the sentiment are from the FREE digi stamps that Paper Smooches offers.  You can find ALL the free digi stamps HERE

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

Hello! Today I am sharing a card that I made for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!

This is our inspirations photo:
And here is my card:

I was inspired by several things:
1.  The unusual colors.  Deep Bluish Purple, Orangy Red, Peachy Pink, and Cream.
2.  The fabic theme.  I embossed my background to give it a fabric texture, and also did the pinking shears.
3.  The images.  I repeated the cupcakes and stacked them up, similar to the apples in the photo.

I decided to use one of the Paper Smooches digital images for my card.  Kim offers different FREE digital images each month and are only available for that month.  This cupcake was from July 2011, and the "For You" sentiment on the flag (from My Guy) is this months current freebie.   My printer ink was low...  and my images ending up printing a grey color...  but I decided that I liked it like that and used them anyway!!!  A happy mistake.  :)

I prettied up the cupcakes by adding glossy accents to the cherries, and Frosted Lace Stickes to the frosting.   They are so pretty in person!  The cake pedestal was made with a scallop border die from QuicKutz, and the Word Window punch from SU.

I had so much fun making this card!  Hope you like it.  Thanks for visiting today!

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

Hello!  I am sharing a card that I made for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  I've been wanting to play along with this challenge, and managed to get my card done just in time!  The Paper Smooches images are just so cute...  they make me happy!  :)

Here is my card:

This was our inspiration photo:

I used the colors orange, brown and green, and made my card in the shape of a tree.  The tree top was cut with a nestie die.  The tree trunk was cut free handed.  I used dies to cut the balloons and the clouds.  The bird was stamped with Stazon ink and colored with a blender pen and ink.

The baker's twine is the twine that the Paper Smooches stamps come packaged in!!!  How cool is that?  :)
